How Poshmark's fees work
- 1
One split, decided by the price
Under $15, Poshmark takes a flat $2.95 and you keep the rest. At $15 and over, it takes 20%. There is no listing fee, no payment processing fee and no per-order fee on top — the commission is the whole story. The two rules meet exactly at $14.75, where 20% would also have come to $2.95; below that, the flat fee charges a little more than a percentage would.
- 2
Texas adds a fee tax (if you sell from there)
Since October 1, 2025, sellers with a Texas return address see an extra tax on Poshmark's fee — 6.25% state plus local sales tax, deducted on 80% of the commission. On a $100 sale the fee is $20 and the tax lands at $1.32 at the common 8.25% combined rate. It shows up as its own line in your sales report; the calculator lets you set the rate if your local one differs.
- 3
Shipping is the buyer's, until you discount it
Buyers pay a flat $6.49 for Posh Post shipping, one label for anything up to 5 lbs. Two things bring cost back to you: a listing shipping discount (offered at checkout, deducted from your earnings) and overweight packages, where the extra postage is the seller's responsibility. Both are fields in the calculator.
- 4
Promoted Closet is a subscription
It is billed weekly against the budget you set, whether or not those listings sell, so it never appears as a per-sale charge on your statement. To see its true effect on a sale, divide the weekly budget by your typical weekly sales — that is the number the calculator uses when you enter both.
Recent changes
The fee structure has moved twice since 2024; here is what actually applies today.
Texas Seller Fee Tax starts
Sellers with a Texas return address pay state and local sales tax on 80% of Poshmark's commission — a separate deduction line in every sale report.
Posh Post: $6.49 flat shipping
A USPS partnership label replaced the older Priority-based rates: one buyer-paid price, $6.49, for anything up to 5 lbs, shipped Ground Advantage.
The 5.99% experiment reverted
A month of lower seller fees plus new buyer fees sent sales down; Poshmark restored the $2.95 / 20% structure within weeks, and it stands.
Questions
What does Poshmark take on a $100 sale?
Twenty dollars — 20% of the item price. A $14 sale pays $2.95 flat instead. Shipping is separate and buyer-paid, so it never enters the fee math unless you fund a shipping discount.
Is there a fee on the buyer's side too?
No. The 2024 experiment with buyer fees lasted weeks and was rolled back. Buyers pay the item price plus $6.49 flat shipping; that is all Poshmark charges them at checkout.
What is the Texas Seller Fee Tax, exactly?
Texas taxes the service Poshmark provides, and passes it to sellers with a Texas return address since October 1, 2025. The state rate is 6.25% plus local sales tax (8.25% in Poshmark's own example), applied to 80% of the commission: on a $100 sale, $1.32. Set your own combined rate in the calculator if it differs.
Do I ever pay shipping as the seller?
Two cases. A listing shipping discount you offer is deducted from your earnings — often $1 to $5 per sale. And packages over 5 lbs: the buyer's $6.49 covers only the first 5 lbs, and the overage is yours. Bundles you discount into free shipping work the same way.
Does Promoted Closet charge per sale?
No — it is a weekly subscription against your chosen budget, charged whether or not a given listing sells. The calculator amortizes it: weekly budget ÷ sales per week gives the honest per-sale cost.
Are Poshmark's other markets the same?
No. This calculator models the US marketplace. Poshmark Canada, Australia and India run their own fee schedules and currencies, so a sale there will not match these numbers.

- What is Texas Seller Fee Tax?
- What is Posh Post? (shipping rates)
- What is a listing shipping discount?
Poshmark updates its fee articles in place; if a number here ever disagrees with the support center, the support center wins.
